I visited more than 60 countries in 25 years

Upon arrival, I took up my natural position at the back of the queue and watched my colleagues enjoying themselves. As each of them whizzed at speed through the air, they were screaming with joy, but I wasn’t sharing their excitement.
Eventually it was my turn… The instructors prepared me for my maiden “flight” and the key message was to have “no fear”. But I was sitting on the edge of the platform looking down the zip line and thought, “There’s no way…”, so I quickly ran off in the opposite direction.
For the second take-off attempt, they told me just to push myself off and then the feeling of fear would be overtaken by just how easy it was to fly. My friends were shouting, “Bipin, Bipin…” and I was so happy with their support. I thought, “It’s now or never…”, and after a 30-second countdown, I went for it!
I was still frightened for the first 15 seconds or so, and then I began to feel the exhilaration of the ride. I was in awe of the spectacular view and now it was my turn to scream.
This was such a personal milestone, and my fear has been replaced with confidence. My colleagues were so enthusiastic – I would not have been able to do it without them.
Upon reflection, I have learnt that we shouldn’t fear anything, and if we encourage other people, then you can push them beyond their limits – and that’s what I’ll do next time!
