It was time for the shift handover and clear that our colleagues had had a tough day with lots of complex problems. But then an even bigger problem happened. The machines stopped working.

We were feeling very hot under the collar. Almost literally. Where to start? There were just too many issues. I knew I needed to keep a cool head, despite everything that was going on. Inside, I was feeling under pressure, but my job was to keep an overview and prioritise. The first step was to let the client know. Don’t panic, but “we’ve got your back”. Together, we made a list of priorities to tackle step by step. This tactic paid off; all the problems were solved within just one hour. The result: a happy client and a happy team.

Problems always happen. It’s about how you deal with them as a team. Here at Vanderlande, our team is an entity. We are here for each other and we learn from each other. This has enabled me to gain new knowledge and also discover that my passion lies with Vanderlande. I love working with systems and people It’s the combination of both that makes me look forward to going to work every day. I’m so lucky!
